    Course Description

Learn the skills to help your partner fly! This is a practical, hands-on, introductory suspension class. You will gain an understanding of the core concepts of suspension, the risks involved, the techniques to safely manage a suspension and you will do at  least one partial suspension and one full suspension. You will receive take-home reference material to enable you to review what you learned and to help guide you as you continue your journey.

To help you discover if suspension is right for you, check out this article before you sign up:  Who can suspend? Who can be suspended?

Prerequisites: This class requires that you have a good command of the core knowledge of non-suspension rope bondage (floor work). Due to the risks inherent to rope suspension it is important to have a command of these fundamentals. Fundamentals include square knots, single-column ties, and other material (see above link for more info). For safety reasons, participants who do not have the necessary experience in fundamentals will not be allowed to participate in the hands-on exercises (at the instructor’s discretion).

Required Supplies: Rope is required for this workshop, and it must be strong enough for suspension.

All of the following will be tied at the same time, so add it all together to figure out what you will need to bring:

    Typical consumption levels:

    • Shinju: one 30’ + one 15’ or 30’  (try it at home first so you know what you need)
    • Swiss Seat: one 30’ + one 15’ or 30’  (try it at home first so you know what you need)
    • Chest suspension support line: one 30’   --  These must be ¼’or 6mm or 5/16” / 8mm
    • Hip suspension support line: one 30’
    • Additional rope for random additional elements, if desired

You want all this rope to be a minimum of 1/4 inch (6mm) in diameter (this is usually preferred), but no larger than 3/8 inch (10mm)

Instructor: Lazarus Redmayne's years of experience include teaching at C.O.P.E., Winter Wickedness, Bound in Boston, and privately for over a decade. His presentations are practical and fun, and his high-engagement style will ensure that you leave the class with new and useful skills. Lazarus owns and maintains www.theduchy.com

Tickets must be purchased in advance. Ticket sales are final and tickets are non-transferable. This workshop is 18+.
